THE PRESENT

NATURE

I

At present

Life is the present

And not sustenance

II

At present, money in the pocket

Is like a plug in a socket

But even without light, humans lived

III

We smell our desire’

And have not what they require

To help us acquire

IV

But still, life is a present

Because we’re able to see the present

And are able to talk of the pastt and the recent

V

That is all we need

That we can eventually feed

No matter how distasteful, is life, 

Yes, the seed of life

Life is a gift to be sure and all ‘things’ we present as gifts or seem to need to give ourselves to keep up with others – not so much. Easy to get trapped there. Your wisdom is staggering.
