BLEEDING BEINGS (TANKA)

SKY

I

Sky! Sky! Sky oh sky!

Why are you up so so high?

When land is so hard

And you gently look so soft?

May I ask for a smooth change?

II

When we trip and fall

The hard stern land break our backs

Without sympathy.

On our backs, we do see you

Regretting you aren’t the land

III

Exchange with hard land

And catch all our heavy falls

So we will not break

Then we will be so grateful

And trust that you will save us

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

I like the emotion and sentiment of the poem. I had to read again.
“Exchange with hard land
And catch all our heavy falls
So we will not break
Then we will be so grateful
And trust that you will save us”
The above lines were strong and I wanted to know more. Thank you for sharing your amazing poetry.

Thank you so much John. I wrote this thinking about how many lives will be saved if the sky were to be the land and vice versa. A painter fell from a building and died. He is not related to me but it stirred my thoughts. So that is how the poem came about.
