I used to dwell on my eyes
Until they shouted and scarred my mind
Then I used my ears and dwelt on voices
They scarred my head and taunted my mind
I went ahead to use my eyes
Reading words to fill my heart
But they too, turned into monsters,
Piercing my chest, chasing my brains
And aiming for my being
Then I chose the sense of touch
It was nice for a moment
Then I felt some sharp pains
Biting, slashing with knives and machetes
Oh! How painful that was!
So now, I use my all:
My hands covering my eyes
When they are in trouble
The ears closing its gates
When mouths go crazy
They are each other’s keepers
On my body land
Not the best, not the worst
But like soldiers on the battlefield,
They work well, together.
