It’s Sunday
Let the sun run my day
I need no proud cloud
Which will call meddlesome thunder
Which goes nowhere without its lightning wife
To shake my world and make me a coward
Though I fear the extreme heat of the sun
I prefer that to drowning in cloud’s rain rage
Let me get the sun
Yes, the sun; its peace and light
And if its heat rises, I shall quietly bear it
I prefer the dust to mud
And the breeze to wind
Let it be what it is; a sun day.
