I
I am a wall gecko
A harmless wall gecko
Whose life is seen
Even on screens
II
I am no chameleon
I can’t be a chameleon
Whose body mirrors
Its foes and friends
III
With wriggles to hide
Have pity on me
I don’t aim to hurt
Or kill a being
IV
I’m in your house
Where it’s safe to be
My place is on walls
And not in your bowls
V
If you see me in a bowl
Then I’ve lost my way
Don’t take my life
Please help me home

I agree Cecilia, fear should not rule a person to kill harmless creatures. However, it is and has always been a common reaction throughout humanity. Fear rules the weak and permits them to commit horrible acts of violence through their ignorance. Whether that ignorance is against a person or another creator matters little, for ignorance and fear usually win the day. Many gardener snakes are senselessly killed here. They won’t hurt anyone and they control the rodent population but people see a snake and assume it is dangerous. Alas, humans are the most dangerous creator on the planet.

Sadly we are the most dangerous. I hope we can learn to tone down on wickedness. Thank you very much Tina. Blessings.

Thank you very much Yoshiko. It is cruel although some can be a nuisance. The gecko here is a harmless child or being who tries to live and step on toes. The symbolism is to help others know who they are; harmless, and treat them well. I hope you are well.

Welcome, Mum C. Actually, gecko is good to have in the house because they eat mosquitoes.
