GOD

Mum told me to take Christ as king

To also go to church and sing

And believe in good guards with wing

She said those guards have life contracts with the Almighty God

To follow and protect me with an unbreakable sword

In the spirit where no amount of money can afford

Mama said my life is His

Everyday he me kisses

So in pain I should not diss

But I need his face

To run this hot race

And turn to embrace

Mama says he hides

For my sins he chides

For goodness he sides

True words to me since I was a little girl,have I believed. She just said it. Didnt hold back. Certain times require us to be more straight forward. Blunt. You are giving out blessings through your poems. Something for some of us to hold on to.

When a child needs an answer. That’s when a mother speaks it does matter at the time wether truth exists. It’s the answer that counts. Later on as life takes shape you can question all you want. But a child speaks the mother will always answer.
