With my eyes,
I scan through the contours of their stomachs
And see hunger chewing their loins
With my hands
I feel their dry and scratched skins
And battle many devouring pests
With my mind,
I steal into their tattered selves
And feel the whips of the dreary cold
Their wounds won’t heal
Their tears will form a sea and dry leaving no trace
Hunger will end up finishing everything within them
And neglect will finally succeed in knocking them to the earth.

Please observe a minute silence for all the children who have tasted death through no fault of theirs; through hunger, deprivation, neglect and abuse. Also give a part of you with a child begging on the street. It could be a smile, toffee or a hug. You might be saving a life or boosting some self worth. Thank you.
