Happiness lived with us
Its family was enough for every house
Before the Paleolithic era
When we discovered the armoury of Homo Habilis
It is no Gordon Bennett that happiness developed wings
Due to the intense afterglow the taste of worldly dominance brought
Volcanoes and storms must have been the only firemakers
Animals being the only real threats
Life I know was led richly
With water treated in the heavens,
Food garnished by the earth
Air knowing no impurities.
Why can’t I choose
Living in this or that era?
Why must that choice be made for me?
Exploratory egg, wild neutraliser!
I wish I had no parts in your loins
Because I put my forming mandate in your hands
I didn’t sign up for this
I didn’t ever think of living in this
Beings swallowing beings in whole
When foods beg to fill this void
Like fearful beasts, we have lost our thoughts
Forgetting by destroying others, we destroy us.
