ALHAJI T. A. MAHAMA (A Dirge)

The afternoon seems like a stormy day with a bright sun
Why the clouds keep moving close to the sun rays
…I understand not
Memories of you keep flooding
As the static news of your gone stares
You were my premier boss in a formal way
Your just tantrums
Your quiet ways
Your soft reproaches
Your little to say
Your regal self in fugu
…keep showing as your royal legs model in my mind

I lie on a bed far far away from your remains
And I can’t help but weep your journey
But I do know you were blessed
Blessed enough to live to your full
I do know you’re contented
Contented enough to embark on this journey
For you traveled through promotions to the top
And lived through emotions at the top
From the grasses, you ascended to grace
Where all eyes lifted to you
Before you breathed your last
So I’ll say goodbye
Prepare a better place
So we see each other in bliss
When this same bell calls for us
Be our boss then
And let’s learn from your experiences then
For you will always be that one person
A person eyes must lift to in reverence
So rest in power
…and peace
Till our forevers meet in a future as loving ancestral spirits

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
