Today, I was called a bush woman
Because my eyebrows are not drawn like a caricature and painted
My nails are not fixed long like talons and painted
My lips are not coloured like a blood soaked sucker
My cheeks are not red like a scared White person
My buttocks are not loose and dancing kpanlogo
My breasts are not peeking out and shouting “Those attracted come let’s go”
My eyelids are without wings
My hair is without fake strings

Today I was called a bush woman
For being the real being of my maker
How odd!
But did it strike a moral chord?

No way! That is someone’s perception of what is normal, not what independent, free-thinking women who don’t need to comply with any false standard. Keep being you! More strong women are needed around the world, especially in your country, who is so male-dominated.

There must be some advantage to each option but not sure just what it might be. I googled kpanlogo and you would giggle to see me dance it.
