I heard him say
Say he was jealous
Jealous of the eagle
Eagle flying freely in the sky
And I froze
Thinking he is overlooking something
Something so deadly
II
The sky, to me, is the most dangerous place
Where weathers are unfriendly
Experiments are dangerous
It leaves you naked to the eyes of many
Many with cruel intentions
You’ll know not where will come a wounding stone
You’ll know not where will come a deadly bullet
You’ll know not from where a burning bomb will explode
So why covet something so strange
Does he wish to live in harm’s way?
III
Maybe his words walked from the chamber of his mouth
Before his thoughts dressed them
If not, I pity a man who can live obscure and triumph
Wanting to live like a bird left vulnerable
…by an elevated vast sky
May whatever he believes in help slap him home
Home to thoughts that will help rain on him
The terrors of his wishes
