JOBS FOR SALE

Akwasi is capable
…reliable
…responsible
And can raise the output of any institution with his skills
But many a rejection holds a machete which kills
…his will and piles on him unpaid bills
Because jobs are for sale

II
Jobs are for sale
So Abiba has nervous legs which sit not
But shares letters which many officers claim they “forgot”
When she calls to get some hope, getting her caught
In a state of helplessness
Because jobs are bought

III
Jobs are bought
By parents who have the means to push their young
To where they do not belong
Jobs are bought
Jobs are now slots which only the rich can fill
Even with no skill
Why won’t our nation be on poverty’s drill?

IV
Why won’t our nation be on poverty’s drill?
Paupers push their wards with their sweats
…and hurts
They push their young with their tears
…and frets
Through schools more expensive than their lives
Only for graduation to turn them to jokes
Who need more than their souls
…to get their seeds jobs
Because jobs are for sale

V
So why complain?
Why complain about brain drain
When the power hands put on the befitting a blocking strain
Only to dig disdain
And force their hopes to wane?
Why play the blame game?
Why play the blame game
…when only nepots have hands in the power game
And treat all the many others as lame?

VI
We might perish at this rate
Since corruption owns our pate
And like a powerful paw, holds our state
We might perish at this state
Since bribery determines our fate
And like homeowners, holds the keys to our gates
We might perish at this state
Since mouths fear to open their gates
For wordy swords to step onto the battlefield of hate
…to fight for our fate
We are but a sold nation
Whose core values lay in the hands of laughter
Waiting for its horrid humorous slaughter

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

The truth is raw like bleeding flesh hmmm. “Things have fallen apart and are still falling apart” and the saddest truth is that, there is no “center” to hold.
