I.
We must learn to park the vehicle of our responsibility
At hard work’s respected station
So we can avoid the cringy situation
Of anger turning humans into lions to hunt our stability
II
Sometimes we take responsibility
…for failures falling far from our fences
So the light of our good works can be our lenses
…to help our sights drive through the applause of our ability
III.
Sometimes we take a bow
To protect the vow of a clear conscience
So as to stop the bite of unknown nonsense
In order to get others to answer our failures’ how
IV
So act not like a nation belongs to you
Barking orders on badly entrenched positions
Please act not like a wicked dying moon brutally burning blue
…the fate of the rising, displacing dispositions
V
For when the heat becomes unbearable
Your poor setting becomes a relief
Written by history’s happy hand into a generational belief
So leave as your name is still bearable
On some lands of revered tongues
To stop the flight of your wrongs
