KETA AND KETU – SOUTH

Adafianu and Agavedzi are being swallowed by Keta
Which has turned into a python swallowing homes whole
Adafianu, Agavedzi and many in Ketu-South are being devoured by Keta
They who have no legs to run stand like morsels to be swallowed whole

II
Surrounding villages watch in frightened mode
Neighbouring beards burn, and their eyes see
Surrounding villages know they’ve lost the land of their abode
But they’ve no where to run or least turn

III
They say some people are in a Sea Defence Team
Their job is to restrict and tame the Mighty Keta
But even though the situation is grim
Nothing shows a restricted Keta

IV
So Keta walks on roads like a king
Threatening beings to flee its territory
The once vibrant Agbadza with many a beautiful arm swing
Is now lost in this beautiful extincting territory

V
Adafianu and Agavedzi are being taken by Keta
With many a people’s history
Nothing seems to appease the anger of Keta
As it swallows people’s glory

VI
Memories of great lessons and voices!
Memories of great blessings and choices!
Memories of great births!
Memories of victorious deaths!
Are all being lost to the Mighty Keta

VII
Adafianu and Agavedzi are dying
Teary eyes watch in horror
Frightened eyes are seen in the teary mirror
For a people’s culture lie dying
Causing hurts, pain and terror

VIII
Yet hands and feet and power sit still
As Adafianu, Agavedzi and others lie breathless
Who will help to this menace kill
In the haunt of the Keta Sea which once laid harmless?

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
