FIX THE COUNTRY?

I watch hypocrisy play on the field of common sense
And watch the ball of truth being dribbled by nonsense
I see birthed hatred referee our former peace and harmony
Now respectively called foe and cacophony
And I cringe at the audience in and on their fence
Hailing the fracas through their foolish lenses

You’re fanning little fires amidst wooden structure
…which houses your nature!
You’re pointing fingers at others
When it has to begin with you!
You’re causing commotions your attitudes set in motion
You’re using your entrenched perspectives
…to throw stones at our possibilities
Yet you wonder why we wallow in calamities?
Ha!

Fix yourselves before pushing lyrics into your Advocacies!
Then fix your neighbours and make them your adversaries!
Then fix your communities and make them your allies!
Then go on to fix your societies and make them your buddies!
Before stepping out grand in your numbers
To fix the country

For a broken self can fix no other!
A broken attitude can change no other!
A broken moral can convince no other!
For blind warthogs leading blind antelopes through dark slopes
…only end up in the ditch of an intentional hunter
You’re the country so fix you!
Fix your partners!
Fix your colleagues!
Fix your members!
Fix your students!
Fix your families!
Fix your cronies
To help fix your country
For that is the only tractor
…which can break the structure of corruption
…bigotry
…nepotism
And fix the woman broken and in despair
The woman known as your country
