OF LION AND FROGS

Once upon a time
A lion from Zion thought itself in its prime
So flaunted dead hides of many an antelope
Thinking it’ll make it feel dope

II
Unfortunately for the lion
Many animals knew its tricks even in its Zion
So they clapped and laughed
Hooted and laughed
Mock-praised it and laughed
Until the lion called all animals in the jungle frogs
Frogs, hearing this, hurried and climbed on their logs

III
The frogs croaked and stroked
Calling the lion king of hides
They teared up laughing as they croaked
Inciting the lion to feel their taunts and chides
They pushed further to add titles as they croaked
Making it obvious lion’s deceit and lies
Until lion felt defeated and stood on a podium with cries

IV
Lion cried asking why it was being Angered and taunted
When it had protected many a haunted
Lion roared asking why it was being ridiculed
…and ridiculed
When it had helped many in the sky and on land
…in the seas and in the sand
…in the trees and in thorns
…and others in the earth and many unborns

V
Still, the frogs sat on their logs
Croaking as to how lion’s mind thinks
Continuously, the frogs taunted with praises of Lion as they laughed on their logs
Croaking and laughing, mock-praising to their breathless brinks
Till they killed the battered and bruised ego of lion
…and pushed its empty self back to Zion
That ended the tail of lion and the frogs

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
