I had a dream
…which made me scream
In that dream
Dark clouds turned silver linings
…to hug their underlings
As the clearest of skies got accused of revealing too much
II
In that dream
…love had no particular cream
A young lass met her untimely death
…only to find in a lad’s soul, a rebirth
The love of her love still young
…she grew with her memories still strong
…as a she-turned-he, looking for him
Her heart filled to the brim
…with determination
III
The soul of the lass met her pair
…forgetting she had an uncanny physical stare
And approached to poach her heartbeat
But the society, different from hers, called her a deviant and a cheat
…and sought to her defeat
IV
As the only heir to a beloved king
Her in him
…was lynched to the king’s future dim
…in a foreign community
This set a stage for a war ring
The community turned outcasts
As many read their wicked forecasts
Asking why one who chooses a back door
…must be killed coldly on societal floor
The “righteous” got clothed in their inverted commas
As the stage was made for a revision of societal commerce
The gods, deserting norms to out the she in the lad
…to the crass
Called the lynching mad
V
And so it was I woke
After hell’s loose broke
With lightning of enlightening
And smiting of archaic heightening
Come see my sweat
…as I formed part of the corrected
…deserted by the conforming
As revolution, a new order enacted
