In these election times
Dear Citizens
Turn not into stubborn cassava
…in the preparation of this governance fufu
…for fingers of law enforcement agents
…to remove and throw into prisons
…to destroy your lives
Even if you outwit them
…politicians can cut you into morsels
For wicked army ants to eat into you
…and turn this country into fecal matter

In these election times
Dear Media People
Turn not into cowardly dogs
…barking wowowowo on peace grounds
Casting shadows of doubts where none is
…putting hearts of politicians onto unfair meshes
…for them to incite their followers to take up arms to destroy the country
You are the eyes and mouthpieces of this country
So use careful tongues to talk
…and matured inks to write

In these election times
Dear Politicians
Know you make nations
…you don’t destroy nations
So use hearts under good and cool waters
…to walk a peace talk
“This one pinched me
…that one bit me”
Equals chaos whose end is destruction
If you destroy a country whose reigns of power you seek
…which other one will give you another chance?

In these election times
Dear Electoral Commissioners and agents
Use transparency and truth to work
So trust will tie all hearts to the pole of peace
If favoritism becomes the order of the day
It will bring unnecessary wars and the nation’s destruction

Please remember that
Ghana is only one
And it is our only land
Know that
If a crab breaks its claws and legs
It makes it easy for its pickers to catch and prepare it as food
So use peace and alertness to cast your votes
And use good communication in all your endeavors
For this country is like a pantoon sailing on a deep sea
A little hole is all it takes
…to sink it
Wrecking all of its passengers
