YOU SHOULD’VE TOLD US

You present
Who lived a future with sealed mouth
And treated our past to the tension and fears
…of another term for a destructive bigot
Who sat on a seat
…a seat whose nose’s sneeze
…infected the world with cold and chills
You really were unkind
To have allowed our thoughts dangle
…at the tip of the cliff of uncertainties
You should have given us a clue
…to our hurts subdue

II
You present who now speed to the past
How do you feel after concealing secrets
Which would have made scandals laugh-worthy
…and made disasters bearable?
Now many live ghosts they can’t unlive
After losing their life vessels
And still wail in unseen realms
Without knowing the clown now wears a gown of defeat
Is it fair?

III
By all means stare at the jubilations
Breathe in as the majority exhale
Gape at the cries of relief
Gawk at the hate of opposition
Or laugh if you know a future we know not
One which can turn our happiness into ropes
…to hang us
But know
You’re a present whose past will lose not thoughts of
…its intense future
One which stopped hearts
…nearly stopped more
And finally tiptoed to its present
…to halt a ridiculous regime of division

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
