Once upon a time
Water
Air
Stone
And trees were siblings in a higher realm
The creator gave them equal powers
…over humans
And asked them to protect and safeguard humanity
II
They worked side by side without complaints
Scheduling duties to normalize their responsibilities
Until normalcy generated into a burden
III
One day
Air suddenly accused his siblings
…of doing less than he does for humanity
Throwing tantrums of hurricanes and tsunamis
After clashing with water and stone
Water got angry
And said she is always the energizer of man
So Air shouldn’t act so pompous
…just because he owns breath
Stone got furious
…and told them he is the teeth in the mouth of man
Grinding and aiding in digestion
…besides beautifying smiles and laughter to make human lives bearable
Trees were quick to debunk the claims of Stone
Saying some teeth are best left out of mouths
…as their smiles give nightmares
Trees went on to lay claim on veins
And how their work purifies Air to fit human lungs
In the end
Talk turned into taunts
Taunts made them livid
The livid siblings left their posts untended
And human lives were lost
IV
Odomankomah
Who gave them the responsibilities
…out of anger of their negligence
…locked them in the hell of regrets
And chained them with the burden of murder
Opening their ears to hear the cries and curses of souls
…which lost their bodies in their petty fight
Making them living miseries in the unquenchable fires of self hate
