WHEN THE FLOOD GATE OPENS

Honking anarchy!
Hovering anxiety!
Haunting apathy!
Hateful atrocities!

Ib
When we pray for the flood gate of blessings
We definitely don’t mean from the Bagre Dam
And we sure don’t mean excessive rains from the heavens
So why is a threat sitting close and causing us to fret
…through fear sweats
As thinking heads worklessly work
Towards decisionless decisions?

II
Drowning beings!
Sinking houses!
Gobbled farms!
Paupered people!

IIb
Do we need to spell the effects of these spillages
With lives lost
…farms destroyed
…humans displaced
In order to school leaders to get the formula of loss?

IIc
Are eyes not working in the working sockets
…of leaders tasked to protect the nation
From danger?

III
We’ll sit with Burkina like rivals
Staying in the same house
Sharing the same man
And accusing eachother of heartaches as our children die of hunger and blows from our fight
If diplomacy is not given a serious order
Don’t we see both countries acting like babies
Crying their losses at the one problem?

IV
Hold collars!
Hurl curses!
Human lives are not Christmas chickens!
See fear clouding the sky of settlers
When the flood gate opens
Hum hymns!
Heat hatred!
But find the cure to the tension which is injuring
…and killing not only our people
But the cordiality which exist
…between two nations

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

Fire!
Is it not indolence and sheer negligence?
Bagre has been around for years now and has been spilling out annually, has Ghana learnt? Do we even care? Do we have shame? Over the years, have we not been experts in talking and lamenting ,silly as it is? Has the krakyi guys not driven SUV over these deaths? I pray these dead conscience and couch POTATOES will be ticked!
