HOW A KINGDOM BECAME A JUNGLE

Once upon a time
Dogs and Sperm Whales alternated
…in ruling the Kingdom of Animals
They dwelled on the efforts of each animal
To grow the kingdom

II
They used claws of Eagles, Lions, Tigers
To protect the kingdom from invasion
They used the determination of ants
The sneaky nature of Snakes
The fire of the Dragons
Voices of the Nightingales
Eyes of bats and owls
Strength and speed of Elephants
And many other strengths of different animals
…to perfect their kingdom
Of course, cock was their time
But the leaders boasted and bragged
…that they were the best builders of the land

III
In one year
Sperm Whales started a riverway
But were booted from the royal seat
Dogs were given the seat in a hopeful change

IV
Dogs were able to complete the riverway
That Sperm Whales initiated
That riverway which the animals toiled to build
Their sweats and frets and hurts and bruises
…still intact,
Sperm Whales and Dogs fought on who built the riverway
To a point of touching on the superiority of some animals
As against others

V
The animals who were still panting from the tiredness
…looked on in utter dismay
“What is happening now?”
Elephant asked lion in anger
Stepping on ants in a murder spree
“No we can’t dwell on these people”
Hawks said
As they pounced on chicks
“Something definitely must be done”
Cats said
As they hunted mice to feed
Every powerful animal looked for its powerless
To kill and eat

VI
The other animals saw the chaos at the top
Shredding the peace and quiet of the bottom
And rose in battle
They drove dogs into the servitude of man
Drove Sea Whales into the sea
And turned themselves into a free jungle seducing any power to hunt them
In the jungle, the stronger eats the strong
As the strongest eat the stronger
The weak ones scramble to merely live
The powerful minded Spiders
Looked at the chaos and fled the jungle
To hide in the corners of man
Always cursing Sperm Whales and Dogs
With their every hunt of flies

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

Political demagogues should beware.
You can’t fool all the people all the time.
Thank you Amoafowaa👏🏿
