FEAR AND WORK

A little spark of fire
…can raze down a living desire
…of a successful empire
Put Corona in place of fire
And you’ll see the problem for its worth; dire

II
When fear tiptoes around a working mind
Mistakes take wheels and grind
Which soul can sit through danger
…not only of self
But of an entire group
…without panicking?
Teachers are mothers and fathers
So imagine the feeling fear is drilling
…in our pores

III
We did think it doable
But walls of hope are tumbling fast
We did think it workable
But spears of scares are a working must
How can we act perishable gods
…thinking through the fate of our students
Hoping those who can succumb to fatalities of this pandemic survive
…knowing after attack they can never be revived
And their family would have seen their last?

IV
Money the honey is now dangling death on duty and
…on our survival
Who thinks wealth before lives?
Don’t humans rule over humans?
We’re in a state of emergency
Hoping something will be done with urgency
But I know bureaucracy will drag it like a conceited bride
Pushing a flatenened curve to rise
Unleashing harm on our streets
…to defeat us

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
