THE RACE OF RACE

Horses who neigh
Problems which weigh
…down our growth
…destroying our oath
…of freedom and justice
These are the main chains we need to break
…to be able to wake and take our place
…in the race of race

II
So let the horses cart their chariots
Let the dogs bark their shadows
Let the eagles fly their skies and love their trees
Let the chickens hatch their eggs
Oh let the lions shred their fears
…of bullets in their own jungles
For they know the ways to a dodging

III
Cut the pythons and take back your eggs
Sack the vultures and clean up your filth
Clear the locusts and take back your land
Gag the dragons to burn up themselves
To guard your freedom and harvest your peace

IV
Turn your rabbits into productive farmers
Let your bats work your nights
…as your owls stand on guard
Let your suns lead the way
…as its heat melt your cold
Turn your sheep into tigers
…and your goats into elephants
Grasses are lawns and not your dignity
Footmats are dirty and not your parts
…to play forever
So cut down the gluttony
…feeding on your own skins
…to get a fair place in this baton
…where races race for places higher
…for the world’s embracing

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
