THESE ARE THE CHURCHES

These are the churches
…asking to be fed
…while earth lies on its struggling bed

II
These are the churches
…which promised to be sheds
…when troubles wed in birthing deads
See how they angrily roar
…for dimes in these times

III
These are the churches
…supposed to be fetching good gone wretches
Aren’t they now stretching hearts
…like spoilt children in creches?
See them fetching anger instead of empathy
…from anointing vaults to halt danger
…to cult their more to their fault

IV
Piles of sweats act gold
…sold to banks while their pores face death
…by hungering-squad
Blessing hands hide in sanitizers
…while horrified heads hang in fear
Growling stomachs beg for survival
While houses of God shut in grumbles of profit
…with no extended hands
These are the churches
…the churches promising salvation
…claiming ovations from many heart stations

V
I weep for the punches of reality
Hitting hard at the joints of their believers

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I think this piece is high artistry and I share your feelings – I was appalled when I visited Ecuador and saw the churches their covered in gold and knew the peasants had long ago given away their few pennies and life’s blood to the greed and pomposity, hoping for salvation.

Thank you but I have the like button up. But it seems some are able to like and others are not able to. Will look into it. Thank you again for your voice. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ’•πŸ’žβ€οΈ
