I found a lovely lonely bird
On a cold hairless tree
No, it might have found me
In a humanless home
And flew in comfort
To set me free
From the cages of lonesomeness
Which tied with glee
But my catapult struck
And scattered its tree
Before its intentions were known to me

Now I,
Feel like Judas
After it sourly flew with my strong cut ropes
Now I,
Have no pleading words
Because I wounded its beautiful great soft wings
Now I,
Can’t deny it
My thoughtlessness;
Its hard hard lessons
I found the gold
But let it go
Chasing after fears
Which never existed

My daughter is learning the Bob Marley song “Three Little Birds” and this immediately reminded me of it, but a completely different message.
