When I think of churches,
I think of their riches
and all their ungodly breaches.
Why do riches make some men of God
“sɛbi” bitches?
II
They must cherish all paupers
But they live for only the “shadders”
“Witchising” all poor mothers
Whipping under all weathers
How money develops wings
To fly nicodemously into secret coffers
Gives me all shudders
So I say:
Take the riches to the streets,
Use the riches to wash street feet,
Make some dragging buttocks a seat,
Then your godliness will be Godliness and neat

Cecilia, Just saw this on Facebook. Proof that some people think of the church as nothing but a business that extracts money from gullible people. Now we in America have seminars to promote greed. Chills went up my spine when I saw this link. Ugh! https://www.bigmarker.com/financialfreedom/HOW-TO-CREATE-A-MILLION-DOLLAR-MINISTRY

… Can’t speak against and can’t speak for. On one hand, there are very genuine people like you who worship from their souls, on the other hand, even those who are supposed to be the caretakers abuse sin. God reigns though.

🙂 What is “sebi”

It is to express politeness before saying something awful in Akan. So another way of saying “pardon my language”

Matthew 19:16-22New King James Version (NKJV)
Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler
16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good[a] Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”
17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good?[b] No one is good but One, that is, God.[c] But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
18 He said to Him, “Which ones?”
Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ 19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’[d] and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”[e]
20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth.[f] What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
Matthew 21:12-13 King James Version (KJV)
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
