TWIN PLANTS

Banana plants

I braced all weathers

Alone,

Suffered through falling

Alone,

I faced the anger of mean suns

Alone

Seeing my twin being pampered

Simply because I was banana

And not plantain

II

When she was watered,

I was neglected

When she was shaped,

I was left in my withers

Now, plantain sleeps

In this weather as I suffered to deliver

My sweet cherished babies

And you want what?

III

You need to have them

To pacify the anger of hunger

The irony cuts like a knife

But it is not fair

Not fair at all that I have no mouth

Your will and hands are more powerful

And my static-ism brands me powerless

But what blessings is there in things

Given under duress?

Twin plants need same tendering

Who knows the urges of the future?

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
