What is a writer without self?
A writer needs eyes
A writer needs ears
A writer needs a mouth
To ask to know
A writer needs legs
A writer needs a heart
Hands can be borrowed
But trusted hands are needed
Like the ladle in a porridge on fire
A writer is the centre
Of goodness and doom
So the writer writes from self
Even if the characters are borrowed
For stepping in shoes
Is better than a shoe stepping description
A writer without self is like a phantom who can never live

Good, Amoa! But I would have preferred to say that a Writer needs EXPERIENCE and a HEART, rather than ‘self!’ 🙂

That is very true too but a writer’s heart is nothing with body or self, wanted to say the obvious fact that the writer, no matter what he or she posses, still needs the self in order to send his or her message across. Thank you sir, for your thoughts.

Indeed, a writer often writes within self imagination

Yes, the self must conceive the ideas through thoughts or ears in order to write. A writer can never writer without self so we end up seeing traces of the writer in the writers no matter what. I hope you’re having a good Sunday. Well it’s Sunday morning here.
