An audience so full
Enough to break many bulls
Offering to be tools
Trying to feign all the cools
On the veranda they pull
II
As the breathless leaves
Their loyalties go with it
Fitting perfectly
Into its six feet with ease
What are left behinds to do?
III
A peak at a sound
Show phantomed shadows in all
Familiar places
Of the gone. Erasers please!
Oh! No erasers for those
IV
The bed is not same
Half as cold as ice, half with
Unbearable heat
Hands of thoughts, loneliness and
Fear do the touching and laugh
V
Lord please have mercy!
Lord fill those vacuums with love
Preparing a path
Like that of the heavens to
Erase the thoughts and loss felt

Sweet and poignant. Like my Dad used to say, “Funerals are for the living.” Those who remain face adjusting their lives to the loss of a loved one. Memories flood in and the passage of time gives perspective, healing & solace.

Wonderfully said. Thanks for visiting; I’ve been on a bit of a sabbatical writing “a borrowing of bones” but back to blogging with a lot of wonderful sites to catch up on.
