I
Swans separating soo soon
One on a continent of fire
One on a continent of snow
With minds merging together
And standing at their root border
II
Bodies lie on separate lands
Worrying sick about their wandering minds
Each asking where his and her mind has gone
Because their bodies have been left like empty cans
With wandering minds and lifeless bodies
III
What is the causing agent?
This survival of the fittest
These papers turned gods
These papers with wings
Have managed to separate merged souls, sad

Reblogged this on Refractory Ramblings From The Darkside and commented:
This beautifully, sorrowful poem by amoafowaa. It is about lovers separated. A special meaning to me when I read it as Chanel and I have always thought of ourselves as twisted swans separated and twisted, trying to find our way to love each other. She is so gifted. For those who have not visited her blog, please honor yourself and do so. I so loved this. All of her work is this stunning. -CC

amoafowaa, this is a strikingly sorrowful piece to me for a reason. Very touching. Can I ask what the specific metaphor of the swans means or meant when you wrote it? Also, can I reblog this? -CC

The swans are lovers separated. One on one continent, the other on another. They miss each other so much that their hearts and minds stand at each other’s bother wanting to get to the other so their depressed bodies are seen sadly around. And of course, you can reblog it darling. Blessings.

Thank you dear Julia. Of course the papers called monies have turned gods. Don’t we worship them always?

Not me to be sure. It’s so disheartening & distressing so many do. Peace, jules

I do know that it takes discipline not to worship these things. As far as we need them, and we crave for them, we’re some way somehow worshipping them. Peace Jules.
