In arbitration
And granting mercies
Or adjudicating,
Doe He sit, cross his leg,
Stand, lie, sit in a palanquin,
Hide behind curtains
Or mysteriously has His voice represent Him?
I’m asking this of The God whom many talk of.
In listening
To prayers
Or consulting,
Does He listen with two ears,
Five, ten, twenty,
Hundred or a thousand ears?
Or does He mysteriously records them on his brainy computer?
I’m asking this of The God whom many talk of
With all the things we go through
And all the tears shed,
Does He have any of these experiences?
Experiences of deprivation, of sicknesses,
Of heartbreaks, of sorrow, of the cheated,
Of the broken, of the afraid…?
I guess I am curious
So I’m asking this of the God whom many talk of

Yes, that was the purpose. Thank you Miss Bergen.

Good questions. I have always been curious to know what what image of God appears in other people’s minds.

Frankly speaking, with mine, nothing, sometimes I imagine light, sometimes I see a white man with an average beard, but now being out of the teen age and into the adult realm, I see nothing. If I decide to pray, I imagine me talking to someone behind a curtain, not bothering to look for faces.
