I am from here
But I’ll not hide it under a sneer
The Africa to detest
Must be detested by all
Under the bright sky,
A lone traveller walked
Time beating him
As the moon kept him watched
My continental people saw he was vulnerable
And thought of what their spiritualist had said
“For power over the people, bring a human head”
And like those drunk, the travellers head was severed
This is the Africa to detest!
I know another Africa to detest!
Where a precious baby
Came in all her glory
But left a little limb, due to forces unknown
Grown senseless fellows,
Threw her into a desert
Hooting at the precious baby
As it cried in pain
Many babies have cursed the world that way
Being cruelly made to leave before their lives started
Like they were some pests to do away with
That is another Africa to detest!
I know another Africa to detest
Where the sustainers of the world
Are treated like fowls, reared like goats
And neglected like fools
That is another Africa to detest!
Even I shiver, at the thoughts of these
If even a member shies away
What would outsiders say?
Please kill the Africa to detest!
