Dear Thandiwe,
It is with love that these fingers
…have found words on this ringer
Your beautiful head with your beautiful perspectives
Fooled me to think so high of your natives
But misunderstandings need clarity
Just as quick judging reeks ignorance
II
A sage once told me
You look to see
…when your mind sees the strange
You don’t talk in a see
…when your mind sits in confusion
Tongues need to enquire
When minds fail to articulate
So why do you jump to jungles of embarrassing laughters
…when your fashion illiteracy
…fans your confusion?
III
I know you’re too bright to share in this
So do tell them
Do tell them about our Fugu
Clothes for Kings and Chiefs
Tell them about our beautiful Savannah Haven
And about the histories that can light bulbs in their researchless minds
And tell them, judgment should always carefully walk after vast knowledge
An early judgment births many a fool
And I hope to be the last
…to see foolishness as clothes
…on many thinking heads
