THE ILLEGAL ALIEN

Once upon a time
There was a Kwaku Ananse
…who lived in Adanse
He was agile, calm and had a great family
So he rose to be part of the elites in his nation
He was loved at first
He was revered at first
He was praised at first
Until it started
He started eating into ants
Then went into flies
Then he went into even termites
And ended up even touching worms
All the people of his nation moaned his atrocities
But Ananse of Adanse didn’t care
Even his own family
…asked for his removal
But he teamed with ruthless vipers to haunt them

Ib
Then he continued by stealing hairs
Hairs of cows
Hairs of goats
Hairs of lions
Hairs of cheeters
Right to feathers of vultures
It became so bad
That his party was overthrown
He quickly eloped to another forest
But the animals of the forest arrested him
Calling him an illegal alien
So it has happened
That Kwaku Ananse of Adanse is like meat hanging mid-air
Where carnivores await his fall on his own earth
As eagles hunt him above
As to how he’d end up
We do not know

Ic
But let’s learn to not live like Kwaku Ananse of Adanse
No matter how beautiful another’s is
It can’t be deemed yours
What will you gain if you have it all
But have no nation to call your own?

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
