TO BE A WOMAN

To be a woman is not just a frame
It goes deeper than a burning flame
And is more difficult that a lioness’ tame
With a tiredness that is oh so same
…every day

To be a woman is to have ears
Sharper than spears
Ears that sifts its hearing
And saves many from the tunnel of the mouth

To be a woman is to have omnipotent eyes
Which see through all lies
But act blind to help its butts sit behind
In a safety cocoon called maturity
…most days

To be a woman is to have a body with sensitive feeling
A heart with easy healing
A mind with speedy thinking
A nose which sniffs than dogs
Yes! Women are gods!

To be a woman is a lifetime of fighting many a prey
Many years of testing areas grey
Many many years of listening to what others say
Until a wake-up-knock springs from many years’
…hurts to open your eyes to freedom

Then you’ll see that words of others are theirs to say
…not yours to take
You’ll know that struggles of others are theirs to fight
…not yours to battle
Then you’ll know that hate from others
…are theirs to conquer
Not yours to stop
Then you’ll know society and its colours
And know the importance of having your own colour
…different from it

Oh you’ll know your happiness is yours
Not another’s to plant and water
…for you to harvest
Oh you’ll know that laughter is yours to make
Without a care as to the audiences’ ears
Oh you’ll know looking good is for you
Not for the praises of others

You’ll oh so know
None cares about your vulnerabilities
As all they can do is speak them away
…or laugh them off
Only to wake to their own realities
…which might be worse than yours

VIII
To be a woman is to have a mind which
…cares more for you
…cares for a seed you’ve planted in the land of your womb
And a happiness which needs to build a mansion for you
To be a woman is to know you
…and love you

IX
To be a real woman is the highlight of every girl’s dream
But that will be after many a scream
Dwelling on many a suffering
Which can lead to living without living
…till you reach the tomb

To be a woman is a very difficult difficulty
But try being a man
Who must degrade a woman to be able to man
The earth has seen no lower animal
…than that
