So the preacher preached
On the pious pulpit
Looking on head tops
Charging by every “amen”
Like a goat, he was sent in
By a wife he thought was ignorant
And listened as he spoke
He held his pen and jotter
Turned when there was laughter
After sermons he looked down
Only to find marked mistakes
Of the one who was untouchable on the pulpit
Does God utter mistakes?
Can’t God, owner of language,
Speak flawlessly by Himself?
Did his congregation hear him err?
Perhaps, after he had preached
He too should be given the chance to teach
To straighten all the bended language
Too bad he was thrown out like garbage
By smart bodyguards, before his words reached the mic

Ahhh, humans will always err and do not always have the best motives. Even preachers succumb to the temptations and failures that all humans are subjected too but their mistakes are highlighted greatly because they have taken on the mantle of teaching others about God’s word. Many, many, terrible mistakes that lead people away from God or twist his word to foster hate and killing. I believe God weeps when he sees what his children have done and continue to do using his name and word as a weapon. Great job as always, Cecilia. Thought provoking.
