She climbed a tree with no caution
The tree was the home of bees
All she had to do to exasperate them was sit
Her bruised and lifeless body was seen beneath
She climbed a tree with no caution
Its branches were not strong for her weight
She sat, it snapped. Her broken bones were discovered
Covered by her flesh under the bough by woodcutters
She climbed a tree with no caution
Its roots were not on solid grounds
She sat comfortably until the winds awoke from their slumber
And pushed the tree with her down
She climbed a tree with no caution
There were harmful thorns in its bosom
The allure of the flowers erased her consciousness
Her embrace caused her to fall sodden in her own blood
I do not preach for you to be chary but watch the tree you climb
Many slipshod climbers end up as foods
Or blend with their trees to serve as foods
For unknown future livers

This poem is dedicated to a girl who died yesterday, the 30th of July 2014 during childbirth. She died together with her new born. The man who impregnated her left after realising she was pregnant. This behaviour by most men the world over needs to seize. It is barbarism to the highest degree. May her soul rest in perfect peace.
