ABOMINABLE DREAM.

Paapa, Maame, I had a dream.

In the dream:

All women in Africa met, spoke and agreed to pursue freedom.

They accepted that they are their own enemies.

They agreed never to be each other’s enemy by clashing on men.

They agreed to work hard by themselves and abolished the custom of men as job opportunities.

They agreed to do away with unnecessary jealousy

And feel each other’s pain.

They agreed that putting resources into dressing other than respect has no good measure.

They agreed to look good for themselves but pursue enlightenment

Women voted women into power in Africa

And all men lost their seats in the parliament of Africa.

They decided to do away with polygyny without polyandry

And passed the law to introduce and intensify polyandry.

They took over all the white colour jobs and drove men into the kitchen.

They agreed to show them so much love, they will not be told to be submissive

And their curricular was upgraded in schools to include home training.

PAAPA: “Herr, what kind of abominable dream is that?

Did you eat too much before sleeping?”

MAAME: “My dear, that is a very wild dream, it is more like a coup against men and we women cannot do without men”

In my dream,

The women removed all bullets from all guns

They laughed over matters and agreed to disagree

They showed no arms but opened their arms

They did away with corruption and were satisfied with themselves

Because they realized that all that men did, they blamed on women.

In my dream no man looked at some parts of women in desire

Their eyes were always down, hoping to be approached and wooed by women

PAAPA: “Abomination! This daughter of yours must be raving mad!”

MAAME: “How is she only my daughter now? Are you not the one who boasted of an intelligent daughter?”

And in my dream, I called Maame before Paapa whenever I wanted to address both of you.

MAAME: “Mmbarimmah mmra o!” My husband has collapsed!

And in my dream, women were no weaklings; they took care of their problems squarely without calling for men

In my dream, in case of any trouble, the exclamation was “nnipa mmra o!” and NOT “mmarimah mmra o!”

MAAME: Stop that nonsense and call for help! Your father is dying! Stupid lunatic!

Why must he? When all that was in my dream.

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
