IN YOUR EYES

In your eyes
Sighs turn to wave their goodbyes
As a couch awaits in a home I see deep within
…with laps ready for my head
…and hands ready to lovingly tap me to sleep

II
In your eyes
Lies I tell myself die with their ugly cries
As a cold bed beckons my warm body
A smile without hidden qualms
A balm for my aching sores
A blanket on your ready shoulders
Your breast branding themselves pillows
…on your accomodating chest

III
In your eyes
I see a dictionary with no goodbyes
Love ironing disagreements
…to straighten them into agreements
From lovely tantrums
…to pillow fighting
Flawed dishes to their sumptuous peers
To cuddling in sadness and celebrating wins

IV
If your eyes are without deception
I’d wish to submit to its reception
So I’m tempted to try commitment
…in this scary ring
Where strings play not same sounds
…even with same finger strikes in same poses
For there is warmth in your eyes
…inviting my caution to bed its guard
For my lurking heart to settle to bloom happiness
I love the charm without arms
…this charm which promises no harm in its warm dam
All in your eyes

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
