There have been many a blessing turned curses
…in high seats here
Gunning for our resources for self agrandizement
Heckling our right wingers to close mouths in ear deception
Aiding and abetting liars to cover their rots
Never thinking of the poor in straits dire
And by so doing leading wise hailers into regretful wailers
I can’t say you’re a perfection
But you’re fair as far as needs are concerned
II
You started your race well
…honouring promises
…wowing the masses
After, you tripped on the unfortunate stone of your human desires of acquiring a legacy
…for your earth god
Changing a history which threatened your victory
…in your future race
Need I touch on the senseless Cathedral of doom?
I watched in horror
Asking what might have possessed you
…thinking why politics mostly end in politricks
But this phase of chases in cases of Covid19
Which force us in races between life and death
…has shown you worthy of our highest seat
III
I look at our neighbours
…with sleeping and ignorant leaders
I look at our “saviours”
…with deaths and crumbling economies
I look at the world
…with fearful and pathetic cries
And I look at us –
…and I see the elephant in you
…shielding through strategies
…protecting with wisdom
…assuring through your orations
…working through your examples
And I get goosebumps of assurance
That the right man leads
IV
As a pen with no side to take
Impressions which call my ink to flow are rare
But just as the bad deserves criticisms to heal
The good deserves ovations of felicitations to continue
I’ll call you fire in a dire cold
I’ll call you rain in a fiery drought
I’ll call you moon in a fearful dark
I’ll call you the penetrating sunrise of a cloudy morn…
…in these times
And I hope a Cathedral is replaced by a great Science Laboratory
…many an ambulance
…hospitals and healthcare systems
…to write your name under the change we seek

If thanksgiving were droplets of water
…I’ll build you a sea
If reverence were bricks
…I’d have built you walls stronger and taller than Jericho’s
If pride were a badge
…I’ll wear you night and day
Just to let you know how fortunate I know we are
That you’re our lead
…in this herculean sickness storm

Hello, Cecilia! Greetings.
I liked these lines very much:
‘And I hope a Cathedral is replaced by a great Science Laboratory
…many an ambulance
…hospitals and healthcare systems
…to write your name under the change we seek.’
Kudos and regards.
