In the silence of sound
I shiver thinking around
Motherless, fatherless
Infants dining with streets
Gaining nothing. Heartless
Vampires preying and feasting
As mosquitoes crave pounds
Of their flesh, bedbugs too feast
II
Some wombs cry for these,
Yet need those moulded from
Their haemoglobin. What is
The difference between them?
They are:
Fresh breakable minds left unprotected,
They are;
Hungry sorry stomachs left unfed,
They are;
Cold fragile bodies left unclothed
And are;
Homeless lost souls left unsheltered.
III
A hungry child, will be angry in future
If he rebels, many will fall at his hands
If she rebels, a whole generation would
Get mind viruses without antiviruses
IV
Mama, papa, brothers and sisters
Please open your eyes to arrest the street
Helping rescue at least one of these
Their souls call, from the dungeons of neglect

Powerful and hard-hitting. The church as well as the government has a responsibility to orphans. Even though we have a Foster care system in America some people just get the kids because they know the city or state will pay them a certain amount of money for child care. Some Foster parents take good care of the children in their trust, others see the kids as their personal bank. Every effort needs to be made for kids who has lost their parents to poverty, death, disease, drugs and prison so they will feel Loved and stay on the right path, not mired in bitterness, guilt or shame.

Thank you very much. I think it is worse in Africa. Many women do many things, including subjecting themselves to abuse to have babies. Some never succeed but never think of those who roam the street helpless. My heart bleeds each time I see them.
